International Conference

Europe in the globalized World: 
The further development of the European Union

in Beijing, Kun Lun Hotel

April 3, 2007 9:00 h – 17:00 h

This symposium, which is held in memory of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the European Economic Community (EWG), will focus on topics like energy resources, jobmarket and economic policy, worldwide peacekeeping and the dialogue between the European Union and China. The programme of the now running German EU-presidency will also be presented and discussed.

Among the speakers will be Mr. Michael Gahler and Mr. Herbert Reul, members of the European Parliament. Dr. Friedbert Pflüger, former Vice Minister and Chairman of the CDU-fraction in the parliament of Berlin, and Mr. Andreas Hermes from the Federal Chancellery will also attend and participate with a statement. The Chinese side will be represented by scholars and officials.
